AZPhoenixIn cooperation with the world wide Apollo Moon Party movement, the Moon Society of Phoenix is having an Apollo 11 celebration on Saturday, July 18th at Chuck Lesher's home in Chandler, AZ. BYOB. Everyone is welcome.  Chuck will supply the munchies and sodas.  Even though the Moon will not rise until after 3AM, several telescopes will be set up to star gaze and a full compliment of Apollo videos will be available. Lots of good Moon conversation!

MOSt LouisThis is an event, not organized by Moon Society St. Louis, but supported by it. Gregg Maryniak (SSI, X-Prize Foundation) will be a talk "Can Space Exploration Save the Earth?" at Herbies (formerly Balabans) in Central West End (near the NW corner of Euclid and McPherson) on July 16 at 7 pm. This is a free event.

Films from the lunar landing on big screen, footprints in regolith (well let's call it regolith simulant), start of the pumping, cutting the ribbon, balloons, invited speakers, and much more. Coffee will be available.
