The folllowing party ideas are in the order in which we learned about them.
The order below has no other signiifane.
From Peter Kokh - idea for Milwaukee Party
Our
Planetarium will be showing "Astronaut"
at the time - we will ask to have exhibits in lobby July 18th-9th
by Lunar Reclamation Society (Moon Soc. Milwaukee) - Status: Proposal to be presented

From Greg Bennett - idea for Houston Party
For the 40th
anniversary celebration, it might be fun to find a pub that has a big
screen and a DVD player that would be wiling to show a few
hours of moon landing videos. The “From the Earth to the
Moon” series narrated by Tom Hanks comes to mind.
Comment from Peter Kokh: Greg, this sounds like a great idea, especially for those who can't secure the cooperation of a Planetarium or Museum. There is a great new video out;
Live From The Moon: The Story of Apollo Television (HDTV Trailer) - excellent

Other
Observing Parties - these
would be ideal if the Moon were in that part of its orbit where it is
most conveniently observable during early evening hours up to midnight,
but unfortunately, this time around, that is not the case. But chapters
and other groups might want to have moon-observing parties whenever the
Moon is better placed, a few days after new moon to a few days after
full moon.
