The Logistics committee was formed to assist all other committees with various mundane services. These services include bidding for contracts, arranging shipping of components, searching out sources of material, and handling the crowd control and other miscellaneous jobs as needed to allow the "tech" types to concentrate on the moon mission. As has been used as an example, "we make sure there are enough porta pots at the viewing area of the launch site", nobody pays any attention to what we do until it is missing!!!
