Hello all,
I exhibited at the Nashville Outdoor Recreational Expo in Bells Bend Park Saturday 4/12 from 9-3:00. I spoke directly with ~100 of their ~600 guests.
I used an 8” Dobsonian telescope to show guests the sun and many sunspots. Theo Wellington used an H-alpha solar scope to show prominences and flares. Unfortunately there was no Moon to view.
We also had many astronomy exhibits, posters, books and a solar system model.
I also celebrated “Yuri’s Night” anniversaries with a display of Yuri Gagarin’s Vostok rocket, first human in space, April 12, 1961; a Saturn V representing Apollo 13, April 11-17, 1970; and first Space Shuttle flight, STS-1, April 12, 1981.
I made first contact with an elementary school librarian and a home school group parent who asked if I could do presentations for their children. I agreed and will set up dates.
