Moon Society Nashville Outpost at Stoner Creek Elementary’s STEAM night 4/24/25

I presented the “Apollo to Artemis and Beyond” spacecraft exhibit at Stoner Creek Elementary’s STEAM night 4/24/25 in Mt. Juliet.  We had 2 hours of fun presenting astronomy and space exploration exhibits to ~600 students and parents and speaking directly to ~120.  See pics below.

I explained models of Apollo, STS, ISS, Artemis, and SpaceX, Blue Origin, Axiom and Vast commercial spacecraft.

I showed models of the Apollo LM and Artemis 3&4 SpaceX lunar lander and Artemis 5&6 Blue Origin’s Blue Moon Mark 2 lander.  I had a possible future 25 person Moon base with crew rovers and robots showing how we could live and work on the Moon.  I also  presented fabrics, rope, rebar and tile  made from Moon-like basaltic materials explaining how we can use in situ materials to build our homes and factories on the Moon.

Kids also experienced the gravity of five worlds using my “planetary” milk jugs.  I talked about the planets using a  solar system model and about the stars using astronomy posters.  I invited many to local BSAS star parties.

The SCE STEM teacher thanked me for bringing our exhibit and said we were the hit of their event.

We had 2 new members join MTSS.

I look forward to future events and hope you can join us.
