Moon Society as the Nashville Outpost at the ICCC’24 10/6/24

Hello all,

I represented the Moon Society as the Nashville Outpost at the ICCC’24 (Imperial Commissary Collector’s Convention) predominantly Star Wars collector’s convention on Sunday 10/6 from 10:00 to 5:00 at Nashville’s Music City Sheraton Hotel.

I presented my “Apollo to Artemis and Beyond” spacecraft exhibit including a Saturn V, LEM, STS, ISS, and SpaceX’s Dragon, Falcon, Starships and HLS Moon lander.  I showed Boeing’s Starliner and Blue Origin’s New Shepard, New Glenn and Blue Moon landers.

I also presented a Moon base of the near future with rovers and robots. I had products made from lunar stimulants to show how we might make products on the moon.

I had models of the Mars rover Perseverance and Ingenuity helicopter, a SpaceX Mars colony, Hubble and Webb telescopes, Voyager and the new Europa Clipper probe.

I had a few Star Wars models on display and gave several away along with stickers, bookmarks, space books and magazines.

I spoke with about 100 of their estimated 1,000 guests.

I met some very interested people and a few “out of this world” characters.  See photos below.   Everyone was having a good time.  I plan to be back next year.

Two events on Saturday:

Saturday 10/12

STEAM-a-palooza from 12:00 to 4:00 at the Murfreesboro Discovery Center.  It’s outdoors so I will probably do solar sunspot viewing and solar system science posters and models.  It’s free so feel free to come out and join me.

Saturday 10/12

Star Party from 6:00 to 10:00 at Bells Bend Nature Center with Barnard Seyfert Astronomical Society.  All telescope viewing is free.

I plan to be there ASAP after leaving Murfreesboro.  The Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS)

Should be visible just after sunset.
